Laser Tattoo Removal is the process of slowly breaking up or shattering the pigment within the tattoo. The lymphatic system will then absorb the pigment and remove it from the body.
Colored pigment/ink will take longer to achieve removal. The darker or the deeper the pigment the harder it is to remove, especially if it is over micro-scar tissues (i.e. from microblading for eyebrows or scars on the body if we’re removing body ink over scars).
We use Picosecond machine is one of the most effective and safe methods of tattoo removal in the market. It is definitely more effective and less invasive than saline removal. Picosecond wavelength effectively target the pigment/ink without damaging the skin texture or causing loss of eyebrow hair. Whether your goal is to remove or lightened pigment, it can be successfully achieved with Picosecond laser.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
✔️ The laser pulse may feel like rubber band snapping the skin which level will vary per pigment/ink depth. We do use cool air during the treatment to reduce discomfort.
✔️ Immediately after treatment, there may be “frosting” on the area that is treated. Redness and swelling is typical. Pinpoint bleeding may also occur. The tattoo will NOT stay white.
✔️ We use a cooler during the treatment to reduce discomfort. You may also apply a cool compress as well.
✔️ The laser may turn the hair white temporary (on rare cases, permanently if there is a reaction).
✔️ Persons known to form keloids, you may be more prone to scarring after any skin trauma, including laser administration to the skin.
✔️ Persons with dark skin may be at risk of hypopigmentation. Hypo and Hyper-pigmentation are a common risk of treatment. Therefore, to minimize risk we must target at very low wavelengths and multiple sessions may be required to achieve the result.
✔️ Sessions are done 6-8 weeks apart. No sooner. We do not want to risk jeopardizing the integrity of the skin or worse scarring.
REMOVING MICROBLADING OR EYEBROW TATTOO:
Eyebrows that have previously been Microbladed that has micro-scar tissues are more resistant to the removal and may require multiple sessions to complete.
Laser machine does not recognize yellow pigment.
Red/orange colors are more difficult to remove.
Pigment/Ink are made up of 3 main colors: blue, red and yellow. The laser will target the dark colors first (blue/black), the red color will then emerge and eventually the yellow color.
AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS
The treated area should be cared for delicately until healing is completed and care should be taken to avoid trauma to the area for the first 7 days after treatment.
It may take several weeks to notice results from treatment, please be patient!
Protect the area with gauze or cotton barrier, if clothing is rubbing on it.
Clean treated area daily allowing water or shower to run over the area, and then pat the area dry.
🚫 Do NOT pick, peel, rub, scrub, or scratch at the skin in the treatment area throughout the healing process. If crusting occurs, do not shave or pick area.
🚫 No swimming or use of hot tubs/whirlpools until the wound heals.
🚫 Physical exercise that causes perspiration should be discontinued for at least 2-7 days after treatment as excessive perspiration may disrupt the healing process.
🚫 Avoid sun exposure. When treatment area is exposed to the sun use a thick layer of at least SPT 30+ sunblock with zinc oxide and reapply every 2 hours.
🔺 Although blisters and scabs can be a normal response to tattoo removal, most patients will not experience them. In the case that you do, it is important to not pop or pick at them. If the blister pops on its own, keep the skin over it covered with healing or antibiotic ointment (i.e. Neosporin) and gauze to promote healing and prevent scarring.
🔺 Contact your physician if there is any tenderness and pus.
ALLERGIC REACTIONS
🔱 On rare cases, allergic reactions may happen. If it does, an immediate or delayed reaction may develop due to some broken tattoo pigments, contact your Physician for instructions.
🔱 In some cases, inflammatory conditions may develop. If the treated area becomes itchy, presents oozing, spreading redness and/or is purulent, contact your Physician for instructions.
🔱 As you are approaching to your one year, eyebrows may get lighter - color may shift to either warm tone (reddish brown) or cool tone (grayish brown), the shape is less defined. Hair strokes will fade faster than Ombre Powder. Hair strokes can only be done maximum 2 times per 3 years.
