What to Expect at Your First Korean Lash Lift Appointment in Scottsdale

Booking your first Korean lash lift can feel a little mysterious if you don't know what's actually involved. Unlike extensions, there's no gluing on synthetic fibers — the whole treatment works with your natural lashes. Here's a walk-through of exactly what to expect, start to finish.

Before You Book

A quick consultation (in person or a few photos beforehand) helps us confirm you're a good candidate. Korean lash lifts work best on lashes that are healthy and at least a little length — if your lashes are very short, brittle, or you have extensions currently on, we'll talk through timing so your lashes are ready.

How to prep:

  • Arrive with clean lashes — skip mascara and eye makeup the day of your appointment

  • Remove contact lenses beforehand or bring a case

  • Skip lash serums for a few days prior if you're using one, since they can affect how the solution processes

Step 1: Cleansing (5–10 minutes)

Your artist starts by thoroughly cleansing your lashes to remove any oil, makeup residue, or product buildup. This step matters — the lifting solution needs direct contact with the lash hair to work properly.

Step 2: Shield Placement (5–10 minutes)

A silicone shield sized to your eye shape is placed against your eyelid. Your natural lashes are carefully combed and adhered up and over the shield in the direction of the curl you're going for — this is what determines your final shape, so your artist will take their time here.

Step 3: The Lifting Solution (10–15 minutes)

The first solution is applied to soften and reshape the lash structure at the root. This is the "perming" step — it's what allows the lashes to hold their new upward curve.

Step 4: The Setting Solution (10 minutes)

A second solution locks the new shape in place. Your artist will check the curl periodically to make sure it's processing evenly before rinsing it off.

Step 5: Tint (Optional, 5–10 minutes)

Most clients add a tint at this stage, which darkens the lashes for extra definition — meaning you can skip mascara altogether afterward. This is optional but highly recommended if you want the most noticeable, "no-makeup" effect.

Step 6: Final Cleanse and Reveal

The shield is removed, lashes are gently cleansed one last time, and you're ready to go. The whole appointment typically takes 45 minutes to an hour.

Aftercare for the First 24 Hours

  • Keep lashes completely dry (no water, steam, or sweat) for 24 hours so the new shape fully sets

  • Avoid rubbing or touching your eyes

  • Skip mascara for the first 24 hours, even though you likely won't need it

What Results Look Like

You'll notice an immediate lift the moment the shield comes off, and results typically last 6–8 weeks, gradually softening as your natural lash cycle grows out. No fills are needed — when you're ready for your next lift, just rebook.
